Panoramic City Tour of Vienna with Boat Ride

Take a sightseeing tour of Vienna and discover its cultural and historical attractions. See the landmarks of Vienna’s imperial past and gain an insight into the cultural and architectural legacy of the country. Explore the Vienna Prater and the Hundertwasserhaus whose intriguing architecture will leave you spellbound.

Also enjoy a boat ride on the River Danube in this tour.

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken for a guided half day city tour of Vienna in an air-conditioned coach to see:

Vienna Prater: This is a fun fair which is regarded as a Viennese institution, like the coffee houses or the Heuriger (wine taverns). It’s landmark, and one of Vienna´s too, is the 65 metrae high Giant Ferris Wheel. It towers over the 200 booths in the Prater, the ghost train, go-karts and grotto railways, the merry-go-rounds and fruit-machine halls, throwing and shooting galleries. This is a place where the entire family will have fun.

The Danube Tower: This 826 feet high tower has two express elevators which will take you to the rotating restaurant on top from where you can get splendid views of the old city and the Vienna Woods, as well as the environs of the city, weather permitting. The Danube Tower was built in 1964.

The United Nations Building: Along with New York, Geneva and Nairobi, Vienna is one of the four headquarters of the United Nations. The Vienna International Centre (VIC), commonly known as "UNO City", was designed by Austrian architect Johann Staber. Numerous international conferences and meetings are held at the Vienna International Centre.

The KunstHaus: The architecture is very different, and does not conform to the usual notions of a building. In the KunstHaus, a permanent Hundertwasser exhibition is on display. Viennese artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928 - 2000) was an environmentalist and an outspoken opponent of mass-produced or poorly designed architecture which he felt constrained the creativity of those forced to live within it. His philosophy, his works in the fields of painting, graphics, ecology and architecture are presented. You can also see the works of other avant-garde and modern artists.

Hundertwasserhaus: Viennese artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928 - 2000) designed this apartment building. The building caters for the individuality of those living there. Each apartment, door and window is different and the tenants can alter their apartments both inside and outside. The exterior walls are therefore a patchwork of mosaics, colour and decoration.

From the hills of the Vienna Woods enjoy magnificent views of the vineyards and the city. On the way back you will pass through the romantic wine growing village of Grinzing.

You will then board a boat from Reichsbrücke or Schwedenplatz for an enjoyable boat ride that will last for 1 hour 40 minutes.

The tour finishes at Schwedenplatz or at the Opera House.
